CDM Smith contracted ENCOS Inc. in May of 2022, to provide water quality and depth monitoring services, as well as wave and longshore current monitoring for the Deepwater Horizon Project: Shoreline Protection at Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve. These monitoring services cover parameters 8 (Water Quality), 9 (Water Depth), 3 (Wave Height, Period, and Direction), and 4 (Longshore Current Velocity), respectively, of the Monitoring and Adaptive Management (MAM) Plan for the Deepwater Horizon Project. ENCOS was responsible for the design, fabrication, and installation of the monitoring infastructure supporting these parameters. ENCOS installed one 4-post platform with a fiberglass grate for the wave and longshore current control site as well as six three-inch diameter pipes to house 6 Solinst level logger series 5 instruments with conductivity. ENCOS completed two service events for water level instrument cleaning and data download. ENCOS was also responsible for water level instrument removal, however, the stations' infrastrure remains in the project area for later redeployment of the instruments.
