Velocity Measurements in Bayou Plaquemines and Fort Bayou

ENCOS was contracted by T. Baker Smith to collect water velocity data along five transect lines at Bayou Plaquemines and Fort Bayou in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana. The transects were located where pipelines had become exposed along the bottom of the two bayous. The ENCOS field team used a SonTek M9 RiverySurveyor to conduct five cross-sectional transects. The collected data provided velocity distribution, mean water velocity, and mean discharge for each transect.
