Water Samples in Lake Pontchartrain during visible bloom

In June of 2023, a large algal bloom, that could be seen via NOAA satellite imagery, developed in Lake Pontchartrain. ENCOS was tasked with collecting samples from areas of high abundance and visible blooms that correlated with any of CPRA's preexisting SWAMP water sampling sites. ENCOS was able to provide four water samples near the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain where the bloom was most concentrated, as well as the GPS coordinates for each sampling location.
